Jean Michel Bayle. Born April 1969. Joined Yamaha in 1996 and raced in the 500cc class on a YZR500 as a teammate of Norifumi Abe. Results included a 4th in the Imola GP and a ranking of 9th. With a motocross background, in 1988 Bayle won the FIM Motocross World Championship in the 125cc class, and in 1989 won again in the 250cc class (Honda).

Jean-Michel Bayle. Born on the 1st April 1969, Jean Michel Bayle started riding motorbikes at the age of six. At 13 he won the 1982 Provence Championship before entering his first international event (the Paris Bercy Supercross) at the age of 16. In 1986, Bayle started competing in both National and World 125cc Motocross Championships before.

In this week's Throwback we go back 28 years to 1991 and the final round of the World Championship 500cc Motocross Series held at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. Georges Jobé had already clinched the title, so the Glen Helen round was wide open.
